Fully equipped, with solar panels, watermaker, air condition, generator as well as electric toilets, ice and coffee maker and an optional drone, this is the Astrea 42 you will want to experience for yourself before buying one. Built by French shipyard who makes multihulls in La Rochelle for several decades now, Astrea 42 are high quality catamarans with good sailing performance and in this case a number of innovations against her predecessor.
Raised helm station is one of the main features of the Astrea 42; a feature loved by experienced captains. Lewmar winches are within easy access to the captain, as are the sheets and the traveller in order to control your sailing. The electric one is placed here too; to be used mainly for lifting the powerful mainsail. Ideally located for the second sailor to assist with sailing when captain is busy with navigation. Usually equipped with Garmin navigation systems; this is the case with S/Y ORESETES too. These are set on an aft pod connected to a sea bench for two persons and include obligatory autopilot and engine controls. You can also expect to see buttons for the windlass which can be lifted or lowered at a press of the button too.
The most used and most popular feature of this Greece based charter catamaran, the sun deck is just a few steps up. Here you can relax, unwind, enjoy spectacular views and sunbath on the coach-roof cushions while still being able to quickly jump down to helm station to make necessary corrections in case autopilot won't do the goods. Forward bow section is ideal for casual afternoons while aft is ideal for al-fresco dining or easy entry to the water and use of tender. Built in 2020, it comes with a TV in salon and all four en suite cabins being spacious with sufficient storage space and fully air conditioned.
Based on island of Lefkas in Greek Ionian, this quatour version of the catamaran can accommodate 8+2 guests easily. Itinerary in the region will always cover main islands of Corfu, Zante, Ithaka and Kefalonia, all full of ancient monuments, churches and archaeological sites. Each island has numerous secluded bays and safe overnight anchorages with a few smaller islands such as Antipaxos or less known Megadisi, Arkoudi or Kalamos forming a great one week sailing itinerary.
The same boats can also be purchased outright from new and taken over in French West Atlantic shipyard, before being sailed back home. The prices start from around 350,000 Eur with a fully equipped version such as this one likely to cost well above 500,000 Euros. Transatlantic crossings can also be arranged, with a pick up at the shipyard or with a delivery to Gran Canaria for a timely ARC or ARC+ starts. Long-term charters are ideal both in the Caribbean where an owner version Astrea 42 is based, or anywhere in the Mediterranean. Optional one ways and cross-country sailng can be arranged too.
