Only recently announced, latest super catamaran to join local fleets in Greece is a 2021 launched KIMATA. Latest FOUNTAIN PAJOT's ALEGRIA 67 with 4 guest cabins for up to 8 guests, she is one of the flagships to be based in Athens. Providing bespoke itinerary to all private yacht charter guests who wish to visit Greek islands and either sail within the Cyclades archipelago or ONE WAY towards North Aegean, Sporades, Ionian or even historic island of Crete, the S/Y ''KIMATA'' is ideal boat to sail.
Dubbed as a ''cruising machine'' by MultihullSolutions of Australia, she is reviewed as a luxurious, easy to sail, reactive and fast sailing catamaran. One cannot expect less from the flagship of such an established brand as FOUNTAIN PAJOT anyway. Elegant, modern yet sporty, she can both cruise and sail at 10kn easily. The amazing flybridge is the highlight of any such model; no difference here with KIMATA either. The hard-top ensures accessibility even under adverse conditions. Forward cockpit with a Jacuzzi and space for chilling out with lots of sofa seating is ideal for lazy afternoons, while interior accommodation is well lit, has lots of headroom and is perfectly designed for extensive cruising even with an owner on board.
Sailing is a breeze when conditions are reasonable; 4x electric winches and easy access to all lines both on flybridge as well as when on main deck. At anchor though is where this boat comes alive. Find that perfect and secluded bay so that your family can enjoy fabulous al-fresco meal cooked by your own chef and use all the water toys that are on board; and there are many on S/Y KIMATA. Aft cockpit sits up to 10 guests easily and for any kind of formal meals or informal gatherings. Hydraulic platform serves both as a swimming and snorkeling or even sunbathing hub, while launching tender for water skiing and wakeboard is a breeze even for guests.
And when you wish to hide inside, either for fully air-conditioned environment or to retire in the evening, you would be pleased to know that living space is enormous and well designed. Salon is huge, has formal dining table and casual seating options with professional galley fully equipped to satisfy even the most demanding of chefs amongst us. In the hulls, the accommodation is sumptuous even for the most demanding owners or head charterers. Large windows let in plenty of daylight and large beds are inviting enough to consider extensive sailing holidays in the Mediterranean, lasting more than one week. On a typical fortnight, you will set off out of Athens and make a first stopover half way into Cyclades, around Cape Sounion. The historic location is place where Temple of Poseidon is found. In the next couple of days you will have a choice and can either stop at island of Kea or Kithnos. Both are relatively isolated and barring local weekend hordes, you will be mostly on your own at a selected anchorage. At Ormos Fikiadha or Ormos Kolona on island of Kithnos you will find plenty of space to self-isolate and social distance while being able to sunbath on a sandy beach or enjoy swimming and snorkeling uninterrupted. Islands of Serifos and Sifnos could be next in line, before you hit the party island of Mykonos and a must stopover on any itinerary in the Cyclades archipelago.
On Serifos, visiting main port of Livadhi and village of Chora for mesmerising views or a safe shelter from Meltemi winds that tend to rule the waves for a good part of summer on occasion, is highly recommended. On Sifnos, visiting some of the historic churches or the capital Apolionia or the village of Artemonas with its high number of windmills is likely to be on schedule too. Neighboring islet of Agios Yeoryios can be the location for an exclusive beach barbeque party or a private meal in one of the two local taverns.
Sailing on your ALEGRIA 67 in the region will be a pleasure every day, yet once you hit the southernmost islands of Folegandros and Santorini, the true highlight of your private yacht charter cruise will occur. Following brief stopovers at one of the Island's Ios bays, such as Ormos Manganari for another day or swimming, snorkeling or water skiing and a meal in a local tavern or a night out at one of the clubs, which is popular with younger crowds, you are likely to get very excited. This is because you are likely to hit volcanic island of Santorini the next day. In Skala, the main harbour, the views are monumental and riding a donkey a to the capital Fira, an experience of a lifetime.
Connoisseurs of yachting lifestyle may want to anchor nearby at Nea Kameni, the small island between Santorini and Thirassia island, and motor up with a tender later in the day. Another highlight these days would be visit to rocky island of Folegandros, for many the prettiest in all of Greece. Further stopovers should most certainly include Paros and aforementioned Mykonos as well as mesmerisingly beautiful island of Hydra. Best visited on return to Athens, , this is the island with many creative souls returning year by year. Well-preserved historic architecture, narrow cobblestone streets in the main town of Hydra and overall unique charm of the island will probably make you want to stay here more than 1 day and 1 night.
Last few days of your private yacht charter in Greece can be spent within the SARONIC GULF, visiting historic locations such as EPIDAURUS or Poros. Following a few days of isolated sailing in the Cyclades, Poros will be the ideal place to pick up partying and exciting nightlife. Epidauros on the other hand is an ancient location for wine and olive growers as well as experiencing the 12,000-seater, theatre of Epidaurus, with absolute perfect acoustics and which dates back to third century BC.
Following another stop at island of Aegina, just opposite Athens, you are likely to end your exclusive 2 weeks sailing holiday in Greece. With ALEGRIA 67 providing a perfect platform for both sailing and luxury living, you are likely to be considering a booking of the same or identical boat in another location. It's good to know that at least one such boat is available in West Mediterranean or the East Caribbean too. We invite you to plan your next yacht charter a year in advance to ensure both best deal and more importantly most suitable dates.
