Set sail in NEW CALEDONIA with a Hanse 400 sailing boat
With many sheltered bays, a barrier reef, the largest lagoon in the world and the spectacular Isle of Pines, sailing in Southern Pacific’s island country of NEW Caledonia is a very special, indeed, once in a lifetime experience. Sandy beaches are shaded by coconut palms here and sea bottom is so soft that hitting the beach even with a sailing boat becomes possible at times.
Add to this dramatic, forested volcanic peaks that serve as a spectacular background and you picture a perfect paradise on earth. Pristine sands are everywhere and allow uninterrupted views with traditional boats of locals adding to the sense of romance. Sail between April and November to get the best sailing conditions and if you allow plenty of time, you could also circumnavigate the whole of 400nm of the islands waters. With winds not too strong, neither too weak and tidal swell not higher than 2ft, it creates ideal sailing conditions for experienced crews. And if Hanse 400 is not a suitable boat, there are also luxury sailing catamarans with air con and generators or a power cat, Lagoon 40 MY which is ideal for those seeking a bit of luxury too.ENQUIRE
