One of the most traditional and oldest events on the racing calendar, Rolex Fastnet Race has run since 1925 and has by now grown into one of the greatest sailing events in the world. Together with Rolex Middle Sea Race and Rolex Sydney to Hobart, this bi-annual event is most certainly one of the top 5 ocean racing events globally.
Taking place over 5 days and across a 600 nautical miles stretch of the Atlantic between the Cowes, on Island of Wight, in Southern England, and the Fastnet Rock on the Southern tip of Ireland, the 2017 event is likely to attract 300 racing crews. Passing major southern coasts’ headlands such as Anvil Point, Portland Bill, Start Point and Lands End, before rounding the famous Rock and sailing through the Scilly Isles. Battling the unpredictable winds and tricky tidal waters, the racing crews will hit their finishing line in Plymouth
Some participants can take part in training weekends during June and RORC1 from Cowes to St Malo in early July or RORC 2 Channel Race at the end of July. The preparation day for the race is on 5th August while the Fastnet Race starts on 6th August. In order to book your performance yacht charter for one of the racing events or the Rolex Fastnet Race, please do contact A2A YACHTING now.

Hire a boat on a ONE WAY yacht charter basis!
We at A2A Yachting are very proud to offer unconventional ONE WAY yacht charter holidays. While in most scenarios you will be asked to return to the location where you picked up the boat, in many situations we can allow you to sail to another one. There are many advantages of charter a yacht on a one way basis. The biggest ones are avoiding the same route you have already covered or indeed sailing against the wind. Other advantages are numerous, but some of the most important ones are certainly seeing more of the yacht charter destination you are visiting, allowing yourself and your charter crew to spend more time in specific locations, and so on … Whatever your reason or sought advantage is, you can rest assured as we at A2A Yachting will certainly be glad to discuss any type of One Way Yacht Charter with your family or crew.
Examples of already arranged long term yacht charter holidays:
Our clients have for example sailed ONE WAY between Split and Dubrovnik in the Croatian Adriatic, the yacht charter destination with one of the most spectacular sailing itineraries around. Others have however sailed from Zadar – Split or Sibenik to Dubrovnik and Pula to Trogir as well. These type of ONE WAY yacht charters are not offered regularly, yet they can be arranged on request and we are at the forefront of finding such deals. Often they are combined with a 10 day yacht charter holiday, although this does not have to be the case, as longer term yacht charter vacation of between 3-8 weeks may be an even better solution.
In any case, one way yacht charters can be arranged in other locations too. One of the most interesting is certainly a ONE WAY yacht charter on a new Lagoon 450 sailing catamaran, starting out of San Antonio in Ibiza and ending in Palma de Mallorca, after a long term circumnavigations of the whole of Balearics, including island of Formentera, Island of Menorca as well as aforementioned Ibiza and Mallorca. One other client also sailed on a Bavaria 50 Cruiser in the Croatian Adriatic, but started out of Northern Istrian town of Pula and sailed all the way to Dubrovnik in 4 weeks this time. Only last month, our regular clients sailed on a luxury Catana 55 Carbon Infusion starting out of Martinique and ending their one way yacht charter in Grenada dozens of sailing miles further South in the East Caribbean. One way between Martinique and Guadeloupe and St Martin and BVI’s is also very popular.
You may also be pleased to know that we also arrange ONE WAY yacht charters that includes Atlantic Crossing, starting either in Turkey, Croatia or France and ending in St Martin, BVI’s or St Lucia. Shorter term one way yacht charter sailing holidays between the Balearics and the Canaries are probably the most popular ones. Namely, every April you can sail from Tenerife or Gran Canaria towards Mallorca and every October you can sail from Mallorca towards Tenerife or Gran Canaria indeed. These last between 2-3 weeks only and cost anywhere between 2,000 – 5,000 Eur maximum. On some occasions you can also sail from the Canaries all the way to Baltic Sea, yet these options are very rare and not offered on a regular basis. There are also opportunities to sail one way from Croatia – Cape Verde, on this route in October and November, while the opposite direction one way yacht charters starting out in Mindelo in April and ending in Trogir by end of May is also available on request. In simple terms, sailing one way is less adventurous and embarking in Cannes and ending in St Tropez on a 7, 10 or 14 day yacht charter basis is probably a route you would wish to do one day. The same applies in Southern Italy where you can sail from Amalfi coast or Naples and one way to Sicily.
Finalise your One Way yacht charter vacation:
If you are planning to charter a yacht on a one way yacht charter basis these days and are keen to discuss any type of itinerary, be it in the Caribbean, Mediterranean or anywhere else; One Way yacht charters between Phuket in Thailand and Langkawi in Malaysia is one other one way yachtcharter holiday option available on a regular basis, this is your opportunity. Contact us here at A2A YACHTING and let us know what your planned or envisaged idea is. We will then try and source out the most suitable charter yacht and provide the best available yacht charter deal or a lastminute sailing holiday offer.
Long Term Yacht Charter
Sail across the countries in the Mediterranean or the Caribbean on board of your own charter yacht!
Staying at home or going on a SeaAbbatical, long term yacht charter vacation !?
There is a time when we are faced with a choice. In fact, this happens all the time, every day, many times a day. Most of the time this decision making is simply about the type of food we will have or how will the late afternoon be spent; coffee at the nearby bar (only in case its sunny and terrace is open) or at home watching a game show or a news update.
Long Term Yacht Charter
When it comes to yacht charter holidays, the decision making is at times much more complex. Do you go for a weeks sailing or should it be two weeks. Ideally, 10 day charter is what serious yacht charterers will always consider. However, at times this process is not so simple. What if you would like to consider taking the whole summer off and sailing across the Mediterranean on a long term yacht charter basis ? It certainly isn’t for everyone and its even more certain that not many will attempt to do it.
Examples of already arranged long term yacht charter holidays:
We have already arranged a high number of longer term charters, both in the Mediterranean as well as in the Caribbean. One of the most interesting is certainly a 5 week ONE WAY yacht charter on a new Lagoon 450 sailing catamaran, starting out of San Antonio in Ibiza and ending in Palma de Mallorca, after a long term circumnavigations of the whole of Balearics, including island of Formentera, Island of Menorca as well as aforementioned Ibiza and Mallorca.
On another occasion we have arranged a long term charter starting out in UNESCO protected old town of Trogir and lasting another 5 weeks with the clients sailing all the way down to Montenegro, across South Dalmatia and on a new Hanse 445. One other client also sailed in the Croatian Adriatic, but started out of Northern Istrian town of Pula and sailed all the way to Dubrovnik in 4 weeks this time. A genuine long term charter is however in a totally different league.
One yacht charter client sailed from Anse Marcel in Saint Martin down South all the way to Blue Lagoon in St Vincent, visiting Antigua, St Barths, Guadeloupe, Martinique, St Lucia, the Grenadines and St Vincent itself, all within an 8 week yacht charter vacation on board of a fast cruising Catana 50 Carbon Infusion. Apart from this type of long term yacht charter holiday, we also arrange ONE WAY yacht charters with most famous being Atlantic Crossing, starting either in Turkey, Croatia or France and ending in St Martin, BVI’s or St Lucia, or shorter term one way yachtcharters between the Balearics and the Canaries. Going back to longer term yacht charter holidays, there is one more example to be shown. Finally, one other client chartered a Lagoon 400, all the way from Turkey, across the Aegean, Greek Islands, even crossing the parts of Southern Adriatic, Tyrrhenian Sea and ending their family yacht charter holiday in South of France. The whole yacht charter adventure lasted full 5 months, it was priced as near as makes no difference, close to 100,000 Eur and provided the family of 5 with unforgettable sailing experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cabin Packages.
On your cabin charter progreammesr, will others be on the boat with us as well?
Yes. Depending on the specific arrangement, you will have other singles or couples who will be staying on the same boat with you.
Every couple will have their individual cabin with an en-suite bathroom.
Will the charter depart even if all cabins have not been booked?
In most cases Yes. Once you reserve a cabin, the boats will be scheduled for that date whether others book on that cabin charter programme or not.
Some programmes will specify a minimum number of guests but this will be clear before the booking.
How far in advance should I plan on confirming the booking to get the best availability?
In general, to have the most options for the season you are interested in sailing, we suggest booking at least 5-6 months in advance. Ideally t his will be 9-12months before.
If you are looking at sailing during the peaks of the season such as New Year programmes, we would suggest booking at least 1 year in advance.
Will I be able to sail the catamaran?
There is professional crew on board so in general NO.
For safety reasons, on most crewed cabin packages, you will not be allowed to operate the vessel.
However, if you are interested in learning to sail or sailing on occasion while on charter, some captains will provide general sailing tips and allow you to briefly grab the steering wheel.
Alternatively, if you are keen to learn to sail, it may be better to rent a skippered yacht for the week or for a period of the time of your rental.
This is a popular option for sailors and provides guests with the option to participate in sailing.
Will we be able to fish while on charter?
In most cases this can be confirmed in advance depending on the type of boat, location and local regulations.
In some cases where there is no fishing gear on board, you can bring your own and purchase a fishing license in advance for fishing in some locations, including the British Virgin Islands.
In others, there will be plenty of fishing experiences on board.
What is a Cash Box that I see on my proposal?
The cash box is an additional agreed fee per person that some cabin packages charge to cover National Park fees, mooring, taxes and refilling of any water / fuel / provisions while on charter.
What types of spirits are included on the cabin packages?
For the majority of cabin packages, wine will be served with meals, mainly dinner.
On some specific charters, you may bring along your own alcohol which the crew will be happy to store for you.
We do offer select cabin packages departing out of the British Virgin Islands for example, that come complete with an open bar of beer, standard liquors and wine as part of the all-inclusive pricing.
These all-inclusive cabin packages are usually available on the Lagoon 440 and Lagoon 450 catamarans only. In other destinations this will depend on the type of boat, number of cabins available and the overall package being offered.
To enquire about Cabin and Luxury Cabin Yacht Charter options, please enquire!
Are you keen to sail the world’s oceans, yet do not have the necessary skills, sufficient experience or even budget to charter the yacht independently ? Cabin charter could be the ideal sailing holiday for you in that case. On a cabin charter vacation you can simply relax and experience life aboard a crewed yacht, with almost a total privacy one cannot find on a cruise ship. You could choose from two types of crewed charters. First, a cabin charter which is the simpler and cheaper version of hiring a cabin on board of a yacht with only a skipper on board. Secondly, you can hire a yacht with skipper and hostess or even chef on board in which case this is luxury cabin charter. In both cases, the professional crew on board manages all navigation, docking, food preparations and drinks service during your charter, although on a cabin charter the skipper will only occasionally get involved in preparing food and will certainly not act as a hostess.
In both cases, these yacht charter holidays are both full of experiences and very affordable when comparing it directly with bareboat or regular crewed yacht charter. The yachts on offer, for both cabin and luxury cabin charter typically have between 4 and 10 cabins, which provides much more privacy and exclusivity than a cruise ship can.
Most of the time the cabin yacht charter holiday experiences are organised on board of 45 to 82-foot sailing catamarans. This is in particular the case for luxury cabin charter as basic cabin charter can often be organised on a sailing yacht as well. In terms of sailing catamarans, their shallow draft means you can sail into almost all private anchorages and special snorkelling locations where almost no larger boats can come close to. This is often and by far the most exciting and memorable as well as requested experience oncabin charters indeed. The intimacy, privacy and exclusivity are best achieved in a secluded bay allowing you and other guests on board, with who you could often become a lifetime friend, to enjoy the best of sailing vacations there are, while exploring unspoiled lagoons, pristine beaches, national parks and unique reefs all teeming with sea life.
Some of the most popular cabin charter destinations are certainly in the Caribbean, between Virgin Islands and Leeward and Windward archipelago. In Indian Ocean you can best cruise around Mauritius and Maldives for example. In Pacific, best offers are in Tahiti while in the Mediterranean such cruises are offered on a limited basis, with most of them being organised on Gullets. One of the newest and most exclusive locations for luxury cabin charter is the cruise in the Indonesia’s Island Paradise of Bali. The most beautiful of around 13,000 of Islands that comprise Indonesia, the Land of the Gods as it is known, is a true jewel. With the neighbouring sister island Lombok usually en route, you can explore the best of beaches in flawless turquoise waters which are teeming with manta rays, giant ocean fish called Mola Mola), numerous sea turtles, uniquely colourful clownfish, and almost every tropical species available on this planet. Please enquire!
Hire a boat on a 10 day yacht charter basis in the Mediterranean and Baltic Sea!
We at A2A Yachting are very pleased to be able to offer 10 day yacht charter holidays in most Caribbean, Indian Ocean, South Pacific, but also Baltic Sea and most Mediterranean yacht charter destinations. A usual yacht charter holiday will last either 7 or 14 days. In the Mediterranean in particular, there is little flexibility when it comes to choosing your embarkation or disembarkation day. Usual yacht charter holiday will start around 5pm on any given Saturday and last up to around 6pm on Friday the following week, with overnight stay on board until 8-9am on the next Saturday. 10 day yacht charter vacation will allow you to either embark on a Tuesday or end your charter on Tuesday. This is at least the case for the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean yacht charter locations.
Examples of already arranged long term yacht charter holidays:
Our clients have for example sailed on a 10 day yacht charter basis between Split and Dubrovnik in the Croatian Adriatic, the yacht charter destination with one of the most spectacular sailing itineraries in the world. Others have however sailed from Zadar – Split or Sibenik to Dubrovnik and Pula to Trogir as well. These type of 10 day yacht charter holidays are not offered regularly, yet they can be arranged on request and we are at the forefront of finding such deals. Often they are combined with a one way yacht charter deal, although this does not have to be the case, as it will usually depend on your flights and preferences.
In any case, 10 day yacht charters can be arranged in other locations too. One of the most interesting is certainly a ONE WAY yacht charter on a new Hanse 505 sailing yacht, starting out of Toulon in Cote d’Provence and ending in Antibes in Cote d’Azur in South of France. 10 day yacht charters in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean and South Pacific are readily available. However, if you wish to sail 10 days between Stockholm archipelago and Aaland islands in the Baltic Sea, organising this will have to take a number of other issues into considerations. The same applies for any one way yacht charters between Gocek or Fethiye and Bodrum or Marmaris in Turkey.
