Cabin Charter FAQ

Will the charter depart even if all cabins have not been booked?
In most cases Yes. Once you reserve a cabin, the boats will be scheduled for that date whether others book on that cabin charter programme or not.
Some programmes will specify a minimum number of guests but this will be clear before the booking.

How far in advance should I plan on confirming the booking to get the best availability?
In general, to have the most options for the season you are interested in sailing, we suggest booking at least 5-6 months in advance. Ideally t his will be 9-12months before.
If you are looking at sailing during the peaks of the season such as New Year programmes, we would suggest booking at least 1 year in advance.

Will I be able to sail the catamaran?
There is professional crew on board so in general NO.
For safety reasons, on most  crewed cabin packages,  you will not be allowed to operate the vessel.
However, if you are interested in learning to sail or sailing on occasion while on charter, some captains will provide general sailing tips and allow you to briefly grab the steering wheel.
Alternatively, if you are keen to learn to sail, it may be better to rent a skippered yacht for the week or for a period of the time of your rental.
This is a popular option for sailors and provides guests with the option to participate in sailing.

Will we be able to fish while on charter?
In most cases this can be confirmed in advance depending on the type of boat, location and local regulations.
In some cases where there is no fishing gear on board, you can bring your own and purchase a fishing license in advance for fishing in some locations, including the British Virgin Islands.
In others, there will be plenty of fishing experiences on board.

What is a Cash Box that I see on my proposal?
The cash box is an additional agreed fee per person that some cabin packages charge to cover National Park fees, mooring, taxes and refilling of any water / fuel / provisions while on charter.

What types of spirits are included on the cabin packages?
For the majority of cabin packages, wine will be served with meals, mainly dinner.
On some specific charters, you may bring along your own alcohol which the crew will be happy to store for you.
We do offer select cabin packages departing out of the British Virgin Islands for example, that come complete with an open bar of beer, standard liquors and wine as part of the all-inclusive pricing.
These all-inclusive cabin packages are usually available on the Lagoon 440 and Lagoon 450 catamarans only.  In other destinations this will depend on the type of boat, number of cabins available and the overall package being offered.
